To introduce you to the subdivision surface modeling paradigm.

1. Resemblance of hand to reference
1. Good mesh topology: All quads, no unmerged vertices, clean mesh, smoothes correctly

1. A Maya file containing your finished, unsmoothed model with the following name convention: **lastname_firstname_project1b.ma**
1. A render of the smoothed hand called: lastname_firstname_hand.png
